It's all social in Singapore

16 Feb 12 - 12:00AM

One of the great things about Singapore is that it is like a village and people are always looking to meet up either socially for social reasons, or socially for business reasons.

Almost every day there is something going on somewhere and because everyone lives within 30 minutes of where the action happens, turn out is always high. People are very friendly and love to network. Expats are in Singapore are from around the world and are made extremely welcome by Singaporians. With a large expat contingent the population is quite transient – but instead of taking the view of ‘what’s the point in talking to you, you will be gone in 18 months!’ people like to extend their contact base and gain a major international network that they can call on at any time. Social media is in constant use and following any evening there is usually a flood of LinkedIn connection requests. Just hope have the stamina for the lifestyle here!
